Turning Japanese!

Having spent more than 3 hours watching the 3rd installation of the 2nd Philippine International Pyromusical Competition at SM Mall of Asia standing up, my family was tired to the core and famished.  We hoped to find a restaurant that won't have a line waiting to be seated, yes, wishful thinking since it is already expected that most restaurants would be filled as soon as the fireworks display is over by 10PM.
With high hopes in our hearts, my brother Troy and I walked briskly (almost running) and scurried past hundreds of people strolling to look for a good place to eat.  And viola!  By a stroke of luck, we came across Tempura Japanese Grill with 1 table left unoccupied.  Just like ants walking in a straight line, the rest of the family followed without asking.

We literally demanded for the menu since we were all so hungry.  And again, we got lucky!  Tempura is offering 50% markdown on maki, sushi and sashimi.  How convenient since we basically order those each time we dine in Tempura!

A regular priced order of Maguro (tuna) sashimi is 190php, now it's 95php!

Sake (salmon) sashimi is now slashed down to 97.50php!

Sashimi offers an excellent source of protein, omega-3 fats, and other nutrients like selenium, niacin and vitamin B12, phosphorous, magnesium and vitamin B6.

Let  us not forget the maki, for those who are not comfortable eating raw fish then maki sushi are for you.  Maki is a rice roll with various ingredients rolled inside such as the famous California Maki which has kani (imitation crab meat), cucumber and mango.  Ebi Salad Maki on the other hand has mango and asparagus topped with shrimp salad with nori (seaweed) flakes and sesame seeds.

My personal favorite is the Uncle Sam's Maki which has mango, cucumber, shrimp and cream cheese in it topped with bacon and Japanese mayo.

Another interesting maki that Tempura offers is the Caterpillar Roll, yes, it sounds kind of gross but believe me, it's good, with unagi (eel), cream cheese and mango strips, how can you go wrong?

I'm sure that your mouth is starting to water so definitely head to your nearest Tempura Japanese Grill as soon as possible to take advantage of this marvelous promo.   When we asked to settle the bill, it was almost unbelievable, there were 5 adults and 1 child at our table: 5 orders of sashimis, 5 orders of makis, drinks and fried rice for my son only amounted to less than 1200php.  The 50% markdown is available throughout the week, Monday to Sunday and has a time frame of 2pm-5pm and 8pm-10pm.
